Rociel received her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium, a joint program between Palo Alto University and Stanford University’s Psychiatry Department in the School of Medicine. She trained in a variety of settings in the Bay Area, including community mental health, outpatient VA, and an intensive outpatient hospital program, before finding her passion for college mental health. She completed her APA accredited pre-doctoral internship, as well as her post-doctoral fellowship, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Rociel’s clinical interests include working with students who have experienced: complex or community trauma; first-generation college concerns; family of origin conflicts, and multicultural and social justice issues. She is committed to supporting historically marginalized populations and survivors of interpersonal violence (including sexual assault, childhood abuse, or dating violence). She works relationally to help students increase self-awareness and understand the intersection of their identities, to develop proactive means of coping with stressors, and to cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships while managing the rigors of academics.
