Crista graduated from Sonoma State University in 2018 with Bachelor’s degrees in Global Studies (Social, Political, and Economic Development) and Women and Gender Studies and a minor in Religious Studies. She studied abroad, simultaneously completing an internship in the West Bank, serving with various non-governmental organizations to enhance health, human rights, rehabilitation, and agriculture in the region. After graduating from SSU, Crista worked in the fields of labor union and political organizing, homeless outreach and street-based mental health, and substance use and harm reduction. She is a certified Community Health Worker and is pursuing her Master of Public Health. As it pertains to Sonoma State, she is most passionate about improving access to care, connecting unhoused students to services, and advancing overdose prevention initiatives.
